Spring roll is one of the recipe from chinese cuisine. Spring roll is a fried dish in which vegetables are saute on high flame and filled in the spring roll wrapper and then fry on a medium flame. A perfect starter for any party, and if you are preparing for the kids party customize the taste. Lets start with the recipe..

Spring Roll

Ingredients :

  • 10 spring roll wrappers
  • 2 spring onions (finely sliced)
  • 1 onions (finely sliced)
  • 2 medium carrots (finely sliced in thin strips)
  • 1 medium capsicum (finely sliced in thin strips)
  • 1/2 small cabbage (finely shredded)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornflour/corn starch

Method :

  • Heat oil in a non stick pan, add onion, spring onions, carrot, cabbage, capsicum, salt and saute for few minutes while stirring occasionally.
  • Now add pepper powder, soy sauce and mix well. Cook till the vegetables soften.
  • Switch off the flame and keep the pan aside to cool. Make a paste of cornflour with 2 tbsp water.
  • Heat sufficient oil in a pan for frying.
  • Spread the spring roll wrappers on the work top. Divide the stuffing into 1 portions and place a portion on one side of each wrapper, fold in the edges and roll tightly.
  • Apply cornflour paste to open end and seal. Keep the rolls under a damp cloth. Gently slide into the hot oil and deep fry on medium flame till golden and crisp.
  • Drain on absorbent paper.
  • Cut the spring roll into smaller and serve hot.
