Rice and oats tikki is a perfect starter for any party. This rice and oats tikki is a very good option for kids snacks or lunch box. Here I am using the left over rice, oats, boiled potatoes and spices. Combine all the ingredients, make tikkis and shallow fry them and serve them with tomato ketchup or chutney.

Rice and oats tikki

Ingredients :

  • 1/2 cup steamed rice (leftover)
  • 1/2 oats
  • 1 boiled potato (mashed)
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp fresh chopped coriander leaves
  • oil for shallow frying

Method :

  • Combine steamed rice, oats, mashed potato and mix well with the help of your hands.
  • Now add red chili powder, coriander powder, salt to taste and chopped coriander leaves and combine well.
  • Now grease your hands with little oil and make tikki.
  • Heat sufficient oil for shallow frying and shallow fry all the tikki from both the sides till they are golden brown.
  • Drain on absorbent paper.
  • Serve rice and oats tikki with ketchup or chutney.
