Gobhi Manchurian

One of the most popular Chinese dishes across the world is Manchurian. When you pick a Chinese dish and give it an Indian flavour dishes like Gobhi Manchurian are born. It is perfect mixture of international cuisine being modified for Indian taste buds. Great as a starter if served dry, even better as the main course when served with gravy and rice.

Gobhi Manchurian

Serving: 2 – 3, Cooking time: 30 minutes


  • 1/2 Medium sized Cauliflower (chopped in 1 1/2 inches pieces)
  • 3 tbsp Maida (refined flour)
  • 1 Onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 tomatoes (finely chopped)
  • 8 – 10 Garlic Cloves (finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 3 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
  • 2 tbsp oil + oil for frying
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup Water


  1. Mix Maida (refined flour) salt to taste with 1 cup of water. Mix till the paste reached pouring consistency.
  2. Mix Cauliflower pieces with the Maida paste (till the Cauliflower is coated with the paste).
  3. Fry the batter covered Cauliflower pieces till golden brown.
  4. Heat 2 tbsp oil in and another pan and add Garlic.
  5. Add Onion and stir for 2 minutes.
  6. Add Tomato and Salt to taste.
  7. Add Honey and Tomato Ketchup.
  8. Cook till the aroma arises
  9. Add the fried Cauliflower pieces and mix till Cauliflower is covered with  all the ingredients.
  10. Serve Hot.
