Delicious Stuffed Tomato Pakoras

Stuffed Tomato pakoras is a tasty appetizer or a perfect party snack which can be served as a starter.

Ingredients :

  • 250 gms Besan
  • 1 Onion (Finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
  • 2 boiled Potato (Peeled)
  • 1 Carrot (Chopped and boiled)
  • 1/2 cup Green Peas (Mattar) boiled
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 Green Chillies (Chopped)
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • Chopped Coriander leaves
  • Chat Masala
  • 1 tbsp Oil + for frying


  • Cut the top of the tomato and scoop out the seeds and pulp to make it hollow. Keep aside.
  • Mix besan, salt to taste, coriander powder and make a batter with sufficient amount of water (batter should be consistency of dosa and keep aside).
  • Mix all the boiled vegetables and mash properly. 3. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chillies and stir for 1 minute.
  • Add  chopped onion, ginger garlic paste and cook till the raw aroma disappears.
  • Add mashed vegetables, some coriander leaves and saute for 2 minutes.
  • Now stuff this mixture into tomatoes and cover the tomatoes with their top using toothpick.
  • Heat oil in a pan for frying pakoras.
  • Now dip the stuffed tomatoes in the batter one at a time and slowly drop in frying pan.
  • Turn the stuffed tomatoes occasionally and fry till they are golden brown.
  • Repeat the process. Sprinkle some chat masala on the fried stuffed tomatoes.
  • The crispy, delicious stuffed tomatoes are ready to serve.
