Recipe for : Spicy Mango Pickle

Spicy Mango Pickle04Here is a recipe for spicy mango pickle. If you are a pickle lover, you are going to love this pickle.


  •  2 Kg Mango
  •  3 teaspoon Methidana(Fenugreek seeds) roasted and crushed into powder
  •  4 teaspoon Chilli powder
  •  6 teaspoon Mustard powder
  •  6 teaspoon Fennel seeds(Saunf)
  •  2 teaspoon Onion seeds(Kalunji)
  •  2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  •  9 teaspoon Garam Masala powder
  •  1 small piece Hing
  •  1/2 teaspoon Ajwayan(Carom seeds)
  •  1/2 litre Mustard Oil
  •  6 teaspoon of salt(for masala) and 12 teaspoon of salt for mangoes)


  • Rinse and wipe the mangoes well with cotton towel. Chop the mangoes, add 12 teaspoon of salt and keep aside.
  • Heat 4 tablespoon of oil in a pan and add hing, fry till it gets golden brown.
  • Take out hing from oil and make powder of fried hing.
  • Add this hing and all masalas into oil.
  • Now add mangoes to this masala and mix well so that the spices uniformly coat the mango pieces.
  • Store mango pickle in a jar and keep in sun for 3-4 days.
  • Add the remaining mustard oil till it covers the mangoes upto 1/2 inch or 1.
  • Stir and mix well.
  • Store the pickle in a dry and cool place for one week.
  • Have the mango pickle with your favourite Indian dishes.
