American Style Chilli


Serving : 12   Prep Time: 15 minutes   Cooking time: 60 minutes


  • 1 Kg ground meat
  • 1 cup kidney beans (boiled)
  • 1 large yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 3 tablespoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
  • 4  medium tomatoes finely chopped
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon corn meal
  • Salt to taste


  1. In an oven, on medium heat, brown the ground meat and onion until meat is lightly browned.
  2. Add chili powder, garlic, oregano, cumin, tomatoes, cayenne, salt, kidney beans, corn meal, and water. Bring to a simmer, reduce the heat to low, and cook for 1 hour. Remove from heat. Skim off any grease that come to the surface before serving.
