Paneer Lababdar recipe is rich and creamy. In this paneer is cooked in thick onion and tomato based gravy with traditional Indian spicy flavours. It goes well with Indian breads like butter naan, naan, roti or paranthas. You can cook this paneer lababdar (curry recipe) at home and give surprise to your guests.
Ingredients :
- 250 gms Paneer (Cottage Cheese), cut into cubes or triangles
- 5 tbsp Butter
- 2 Bay leaves
- 2 Cloves
- 2 Dried red chillies
- 2 tbsp Coriander seeds (Roasted and crushed)
- 2 medium Onion (Sliced)
- 2 tsp Ginger paste
- 2 tsp Garlic paste
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- 5-6 medium Tomatoes
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp Kasoori methi (crushed)
- 2 tsp Fresh cream
- 1 tbsp Oil
Method :
- Heat three tablespoons butter with oil in a kadai.
- Add bay leaves, cloves, red chillies and crushed coriander seeds and saute for few seconds.
- Now add onion and stir fry for few seconds and add ginger paste and garlic paste. Cook till the raw aroma disappears.
- Add tomatoes coriander powder, red chilli powder, salt to taste and cook on high heat till oil leaves the masala.
- Puree the mixture with the help of blender or mixer.
- Heat the remaining butter in the same pan and cook the pureed mixture for two minutes.
- Add paneer pieces. Add half a cup of water. Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low heat for five minutes.
- Sprinkle kasoori methi and mix in lightly. Remove from heat, mix cream and remaining butter well.
- Serve paneer lababdar curry with rice, roti or butter naan. Garnish with some butter and fresh coriander.
