Mooli ka Saag Recipe


Mooli (Radish) is a seasonal vegetable. It is rich in vitamin C, vitamin B and other essential minerals for the body. Radish helps to keep your blood pressure in check. Radish is eaten raw and cooked. For those who don’t like to eat radish raw I am sharing Mooli ka saag recipe which is quick and simple to cook. Lets start with the recipe..


Ingredients :

  • 2 medium Mooli(Radish) along with leaves and extra leaves of 2 radish
  • 2¬†Onions (Finely chopped)
  • 3 Tomatoes (Finely chopped)
  • 5-6 Garlic cloves (Finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp Oil

Method :

  • Wash and peel the radish. Cut into small pieces.
  • Wash the radish leaves and finely chop them.
  • Now boil the radish leaves and radish in a pan or pressure cook them in 1 cup of water for 2 whistles.
  • In the mean time heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds.
  • When they start crackling add chopped garlic and saute till the raw aroma disappears.
  • Now add onion and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, salt to taste and cook on low flame until the oil separates from masala.
  • When the pressure is released drain excess water from the cooked radish with the help of strainer.
  • Now add the cooked radish to the masala and mix well.
  • Cook on low flame for 2 minutes, remove from fire.
  • Your mooli ka saag is ready to be served with rotis or paratha.
