Handi Paneer Recipe

I am sharing one more paneer recipe today…that is Handi paneer. You can serve Handi paneer with chapatti, naan, paratha or rice. In this recipe paneer is cook in spicy yogurt gravy.  Lets start with the recipe.

Handi Paneer

Serving : 4          Cooking Time : 15-20 minutes

Ingredients :

• 250 gms Paneer, cut it into medium sized cubes (Cottage cheese)
• 1/2 cup Yogurt (dahi)
• 2 Onions(Finely chopped)
• 2 medium Tomatoes (Ground to a smooth paste)
• 2-3 Garlic (Finely chopped)
• 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp Ginger(grated)
• 1 tsp Coriander powdered (Dhaniya)
• 1/2 tsp Garam masala
• 1/4 tsp Pepper powder (kali mirch)
• 1 Bay leaf (tej patta)
• 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
• 2 tbsp Oil
• 10-15 coriander leaves (dhaniya patti)
• Salt to taste

Method :

  • Heat oil in a pan and add bay leaf, fry for a minutes.
  • Add finely chopped onion and cook on medium flame until it gets light brown, then add garlic, ginger and cook until the raw aroma disappear.
  • Add tomatoes, turmeric, chilli powder, garam masala, coriander powder and cook until oil separates from masala.
  • Now add beaten curd and stir continuously till dry.
  • Add salt, 1/2 cup water, mix well and bring it to boil.
  • Add paneer, pepper and mix well so that masala coats the paneer well.
  • Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves. Your handi paneer is ready to be served with hot chapatti, tandoori roti or pulao.
