
Bathua Raita is very commonly prepared dish in Northern India. It is very healthy and nutritious. It goes well along with bajre ki roti and makhan (butter).
Ingredients :
- 1/2 bunch Bathua
- 2 cups Dahi (Curd)
- 1/4 tsp Red Chili powder
- 1/2 tsp Roasted Cumin powder
- 2-3 Garlic cloves (mashed to a paste )
- Salt to taste
Method :
- Clean and wash the bathua thoroughly. Put the bathua along with half cup water in a pan and bring it to a boil. It will boil in 7 to 8 minutes. Cool the bathua and drain excess water by pressing bathua into your palms.
- With the help of grinding stone blend bathua to a smooth paste.
- Beat curd, add grinded bathua, salt to taste, red chili powder, roasted cumin powder, garlic pasteĀ and mix well so that no lumps are formed.
- Check the consistency if the raita is too thick you can add little bit of water to get the proper consistency that you want.
- Bathua Raita is ready to be served as a side dish.
