Aloo Fry Recipe

 Aloo fry is a simple and easy to cook recipe. Everyone has there different ways to cook aloo fry. I have learnt this aloo fry recipe from my mother in law. In my in-laws house, on every Thursday you will find aloo fry recipe in the dinner along with kadhi. 


Serving : 2-3
Cooking Time : 10-15 minutes
Prep Time : 10 minutes

Ingredients :

  • 5-6 Potatoes
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Coriander Leaves (Finely chopped)

Method :

  • Wash, peel and cut the potatoes into thin slices.(you can cut into half inch cubes but I prefer thin slices)
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds.
  • When seeds start crackling add potatoes to it and stir until the oil coats the slices.
  • Cook on low heat. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, salt to taste and stir until the slices are coated with the spices.
  • Continue to stir fry and cook until potatoes are soft.
  • Add chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Serve hot with chapatis along with any gravy dish.
