Oats Tikki

My husband love aloo tikki…so in a duration of 10-15 days I make aloo tikkis at home. Once I tried this healthy version of aloo tikki for him which is oats tikki. It can be served with green chutney or even with choley or ragda. I have already shared ragda patties on my blog…so in those recipes also you can use oats tikki instead of the usual tikki that we prepare in those recipes…

Oats tikki
Ingredients :

• 1 1/2 cup Oats
• 4 medium Potatoes (boiled and peeled)
• 3 brown Bread slices
• 1/2 tsp Red Chili powder
• Salt to taste
• 1 tsp Garam masala
• 2 tbsp Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
• Oil for shallow frying

Method :

  • Mash potatoes in a bowl. Add oats, salt, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, finely chopped coriander and mix well.
  • Dip bread slice in little water and then press the bread between your palms to drain the excess water. Add this to the potato mixture. Repeat the process for remaining breads.
  • Mix breads in the mixture well.
  • Divide the oats potato mixture into equal sized portions and shape into tikkis.
  • Heat a non-stick tawa and shallow-fry the oats tikkis on medium heat, till golden brown on both sides.
  • Serve hot oats tikki with your choice of chutney or tomato ketchup.
