Oats Moong Dal Chilla Recipe

A simple pancake recipe comprising of moong dal and oats…moong and oats are rich in protein and fibre. Good for toddlers.

Cooking Time : 15 minutes              Serving : 3-4

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup Oats
  • 1 cup Moong Dal Dhuli (soak for 2-3 hours)
  • 1 tbsp Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp Ginger Green Chili paste
  • 1 tbsp Green Capsicum (Finely chopped)
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil

Method :

  • Soak oats in 2 cups of water for half an hour.
  • Soak moong dal in 2 cups of water for 2-3 hours.
  • Drain water. Grind oats, moong dal to a smooth paste separately. If you find difficulty in grinding them use sufficient amount of water.
  • Mix oats, moong dal, onion, ginger-green chili paste, capsicum, salt to taste in a bowl.
  • Batter consistency should be of dosa batter.
  • Apply 1/2 tsp of oil on a non stick tava, pour a ladleful of batter on the tava and spread in a circular motion.
  • Smear a little oil along the sides, cook on both the sides till the oats moong dal chilla turns brown and crispy.
  • Repeat with remaining batter to make more chillas.
  • Serve hot with green chutney or tomato sauce.
