Gajar ka halwa is mouth watering sweet dish which everyone loves it. It is a popular worldwide sweet dish with many variations such as carrot and beetroot halwa, sugar free gajar ka halwa, cheesy gajar ka halwa. Today I am sharing the very simple and easy way of cooking gajar ka halwa. Lets start with the recipe..
Ingredients :
- 1 kg Carrots
- 1 litre Milk
- 3 tbsp Ghee
- 2 tbsp Raisins
- 2 tbsp Almonds (Finely sliced)
- 450 grams Sugar
Method :
- Put the milk in thick bottom sauce pan and bring it to boil. Now reduce the flame and cook until the milk is reduced to half while stirring occasionally.
- Wash and grate the carrots. Soak the raisin and almonds in water for 30 minutes. Blanch and shred the nuts.
- Now add the grated carrot to milk and mix well. Cook till the milk is absorbed.
- Now add the sugar, mix well and cook till sugar is dissolved. Stir continuously.
- Add ghee and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add the sliced almonds and the raisins. Mix well.
- Remove the Gajar halwa from heat and arrange in a serving dish.
- Serve Gajar ka halwa hot or at room temperature.
